Bike rental in Bora Bora

by Patricia Boglio

Good morning,
I would like to rent a bike on Bora Bora, but cannot find a web site that offers rentals. I called Avis and they said they do not do bike rentals. We will arrive by cruise ship so would need a rental near the dock.

Thank you

Bora Bora Island Guide's Response

Hi Patricia,

Your best chance of renting a bike is from Matira Beach. When you get off the cruise tender, take a taxi or shuttle bus to Matira Beach ($5/person each way). There are a couple of places there that rent bikes and electric bikes. Roulette Matira is one of the places that rents bikes. It is at the far end of Matira Beach, across the road from Hotel Matira. Be aware that the cost for 2 people to rent bikes is close to the cost renting a car for 4 hours.

I would only recommending riding a bike around the island if you are very fit riders. The time you have in Bora Bora when you come on a cruise ship for the day is very precious. You want to use your time as best you can.
